Since we launched our Nature recipes, we add dehydrated krill due to its proven benefits for our pets’ health. Like this, krill is now part of our variety of ingredients used for this range.
Krill is a type of crustaceous very similar to shrimps but smaller. Krill meal is a higher source and exceptionally pure of the fatty acids Omega-3 EPA and DHA that have many recognized health benefits and they are very important for the nervous system, heart and eyes, and also for many cells, skin tissue and organs of the pet body. Dehydrated krill is a very special ingredient because it contains fatty acids Omega-3, added to phospholipids (instead of triglycerides); this formula makes the skin tissue absorption work. Having coline is beneficial as this nutrient is compatible with the cellular structure and function, genes regulation and fat metabolism. It also contains astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties (to help prevent free radicals).
On top of this, dehydrated krill is a valuable protein source with an outstanding profile of essential amino-acids.
Lenda uses sustainable development krill as it comes from a sustainable catch method and, thinking about krill´s environmental relevance it can´t be in any other way.
